For those of you in the community that have been keeping up on the fate of the eight 100 year old Oak Trees on the Flagler College campus at Sevilla Street and there proposed demise - please be aware that the reconsideration that Commissioner Gardener suggested last week to the commissioners regarding their hasty decision the week before to allow these trees to be destroyed, is not complete.
From the good commissioner himself, Mr Gardener has let us know that the community must come out with public support for this reconsideration by showing support of it before the scheduled April 23rd meeting of the commissioners on this issue. This means that we all need to write, call and visit our mayor, commissioners and the president of Flagler college to instill in them our desire to allow these majestic pieces of history stand strong and begin being cared for appropriately.
