WHY SHOULD YOU XERISCAPE?
Saving water has multiple benefits. This saves you money, as well as protecting Florida’s limited resources. XERISCAPING is a natural, Beautiful, and COLORFUL alternative to the standard “Sod and Red Mulch” approach to landscaping. Properly designed and installed Xeriscape environments don’t require a lot of water, or maintenance while providing you with a lush beautiful landscape.
This pamphlet hopes to introduce you to some of the basic principles of Xeriscaping, which Artist and Designer Jill Ziebell helped research and establish during the early 1990’s. Her results were published in “Denver Water Xeriscape Plant Guide” in 1996.
1. Saint Johns Water Management District utilized this guide to put together a more locally based “Water-Wise” “New and Revised Xeriscape Plant Guide” which is available through the district.
2. Most people think of Xeriscaping as a brown, desolate, moonish type environment. It’s doesn’t need to be. Let Jill’s experience make your yard glow like hers!
